Last time
September 13-15, The Sox swept the Mariners in Seattle. Jon Lester dominated the Mariners in game 1, striking out 12, giving up only 1 run and 3 hits over 8 innings. Buchholz had a similar outing in game 3 of the series, giving up 1 run, 4 hits, and struck out 6 over 7 innings.
This time
Laser Show: Adrian Gonzalez & Jacoby Ellsbury
Our two buys after the Orioles series, they are riding hot streaks into the weekend series. Ellsbury a 7-game streak, and Gonzalez, a 5-game streak. These two are seeing the ball well and with 2 righties going, they should keep the show going.
Pitch Around: Justin Smoak
Switch hitter Justin Smoak, has been explosive over the past 4 games. In that time, Smoak boosted his season stats by hitting 3 home runs, and driving in 9. Before the 4 game series against Detroit, Smoak only had 1 homer and 6 RBI. That's a bat that you don't want to see in a tight situation.
Don't Fall Behind: Felix Hernandez
All I have to say is, reigning Cy Young award winner. Once Hernandez gets comfortable on the mound, he will take over and give the Sox a hard time. The Sox have to get to him early and throw his rhythm off.
How we see it goin' down
I don't care if Seattle is playing good ball and are coming in with a 3-game win streak. The Sox are back home and will beat the crap out of Seattle...translating into a sweep. Boston will put April behind them and impress on this 11-game home stand.
