Murphy's Law applies to the Red Sox as they drop their sixth straight and are win-less this season.
When you lose on a suicide squeeze, and when the chance to tie is wasted away by a base running blunder, nothing else can possibly go wrong.
This was a great pitchers duel, and Jon Lester was everything the Red Sox needed him to be. Lester pitched 7 scoreless innings, giving up only 3 hits, and striking out 9. All he needed was a couple of runs in support and we would all be breathing a sign of relief.
The Red Sox only scored 5 total runs in the series, but they had their opportunities and blew them with runners in scoring position.
There is still room to breathe and no cause for panic...yet. The Red Sox have only lost 3.7% of their games, the equivalent of the Celtics and Bruins going on a 3 game losing streak.
The Red Sox will now take their miserable 6 game losing streak to Fenway against the Yankees. I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
