Jaime Moyer will never hang up those cleats. Since joining the league with the Chicago Cubs in 1921 (I'll have to check that date), he had been going strong, until Tommy John surgery last season. He sat out the entire season, and that looked like the end for Moyer. Nope. He is back and ready for another season, this time with the Colorado Rockies.
ESPN:
Jamie Moyer has agreed to terms on a minor league contract with an invite to the Colorado Rockies' spring training, pending a physical.
The 49-year-old lefty didn't play last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his throwing elbow.
After checking my facts on Moyer's first season, I was close, but wrong. Moyer's first season was 1986, before most of our readers were born.
