Bogar expects six innings from Alfredo Aceves, who appears to have a leg up on the competition for a spot in the rotation.
Manager Bobby Valentine said that Vicente Padilla will work out of the bullpen and he appears to be taking Aceves' role as the multi-purpose reliever.
I would be fine with Aceves as the Sox fifth starter. Last season, Aceves started 4 games for the Sox, and went 1-1, with a 5.14 ERA over 21 innings. Well, that didn't help his case much.
We'll see how he does in his 6 possible innings of work this afternoon against the Phillies.
