With the rash of injuries in the Red Sox outfield, the Sox continue to dip into the Pawtucket Red Sox outfield. This time, it is veteran Scott Podsednik.
...the Red Sox need some outfield help.
And according to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal, it will be coming in the form of Scott Podsednik.
The 36-year-old outfielder is hitting .323 in nine games with Pawtucket this season, after he was traded from the Phillies’ organization in early May. Podsednik spent last season in the minors after hitting .297 in 2010 in 134 games split between the Dodgers and Royals.
Podsednik is no stranger to change, with the Red Sox being his 9th major league club. The loss of Cody Ross (unintentional rhyme) is a cruical blow to the outfield production. Ross is no all star, but Podsednik will not be able to contribute as much as Ross has.
