Old friend Marlon Byrd just got nailed big time. According to the MLB's Twitter Feed, the recently released outfielder just got suspended for 50 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. He tested positive for tamoxifen, which is an estrogen blocker and is used to mitigate steroid side-effects (accoring to ESPN's TJ Quinn)
So it's not positive what/if he used anything else but still....Marlon Byrd?! The guy who hit .210 with one home run (and just three extra base hits) and nine RBI's for the season. He better have his receipt because he got ripped off.
The suspension won't start until he signs with a team, but when you have an OPS of .488 AND you got caught using PEDs... you might want to start looking for your next career.
