So how long will it be for before Sully's puts "Youthful Enthusiasm" on a shirt? They have to be printing them out now right?
Three prospects, Will Middlebrooks, Ryan Kalish, and Daniel Nava, put together a great three run rally to give the Sox one of their best victories of the year, a 6-5 win over the Marlins.
It started off when another surprise this season, Jarrod Saltalamacchia came up in the eighth and hit a double deep into center off of Randy Choate. Marlins manager Jose Guillen switched him for Edward Mujica to face Middlebrooks. Middlebrooks managed to get down in the count early but stayed patient and took a 2-2 pitch deep into the center to tie the game. Middlebrooks with 3 for 4 with 4 RBI, and now has 31 RBI in 38 games.
Ryan Kalish came up and singled next. After a fielder's choice from Mike Aviles, Daniel Nava came up and got a base hit of his own to put in the go ahead run. Nava finished the night 2 for 4.
It didn't look good early, as Dice-K had himself a rough start by giving up three runs in the first. He would retire the next 13 batters he faced....and then ends it by giving up a homer and to Giancarlo Stanton which ended his night. It was good to see Dice throw string together a few 1-2-3 innings but if he can avoid the big inning in the first, it would make life easier.
But then again, we wouldn't be able to enjoy all of that youthful enthusiasm.
