The Red Sox closed out the month of May by winning 3 out of 4 against the Tigers at Fenway. The Sox hit 5 home runs in the series and the only thing that stopped them from the 4-game sweep was Max Scherzer. The Sox tagged Verlander for 5 runs on 10 hits over 6 innings. Scherzer didn't have the easiest time with the Sox as he gave up 7 hits and 3 runs but the Tigers offense roughed up Beckett and Co. to award Scherzer the win.

Don't Fall Behind: Justin Verlander & Max Scherzer
Verlander's 146 K's are good for 4th in the Majors and Scherzer's 142 place him 6th.
Verlander does not give up many chances, and his .200 opponent batting average will back him up (2nd in Majors). Just because the Red Sox have roughed him up in the past doesn't mean he will fold.
Max Scherzer is statistically worse, but he is still considered one of the best pitchers in the AL. He can rack up the K's very quickly and take the Sox offense out of the game.
How we see it goin' down
Sure, the Sox won the series in the Bronx, but don't think the Sox can beat anyone now. The Sox are going up against one of the best 1-2 punches in the game and I don't like their odds. The Red Sox will put up a decent fight and fall short of another series win as the Tigers will take 2 at Fenway.
