Every time the Red Sox build up momentum, they find a way to lose it just as quickly.
The Blue Jays completed a sweep of the Sox at Fenway with a 15-7 bludgeoning, sending Boston back to .500, and back to the basement.
Jon Lester gets the blame for this one. He was tagged for 11 runs over four innings, including four homers, five walks, nine hits, and a wild pitch. The Bardian performance made me wonder: Might a "groin strain" or "abdominal bruise" or some other phanton injury be in Lester's near future? Wouldn't it be best for the club to sit him down for a while, let him not stress quite so much?
On the other hand, he is supposed to be the ace, and he should be tough enough to handle the stress. He just can't seem to put anything together this year. I do feel bad for him, though.
The only real positive note was that Adrian Gonzalez continued his hot hitting with two hits, including a home run, and three RBI.
