Lineup
Daniel Nava: Still not impressed with what he is doing from the top spot. He's not cutting it with 2 hits and 1 run from that spot in the series.
Dustin Pedroia: A good start to the series, then a trip to the DL. His value can't go up while he is sitting in the dugout.
David Ortiz: Big Papi continues to keep it consistent. He went into the series batting .301 and left at .302. His 400th career homer was a great moment.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia: I still don't understand why he is batting in the clean-up spot. Going 0-for-7 with a pair of strikeouts and a walk is terrible for a clean-up hitter. I know he hit the homer in game 2, but it wasn't enough to excuse the rest of the series.
Adrian Gonzalez: A 15-game hitting streak is a decent way to try to get back in the mix of things. Although he didn't do much to impact the score of any game (1 RBI), he is looking better at the plate and we are all just waiting for that power to come around.
Cody Ross: He couldn't buy a hit in the series. Ross did draw 2 walks in game 1, and that was all he could do.
Ryan Kalish: We all thought he would be tearing it up by now. A trip back to Pawtucket may be what he needs to get that bat going again.
Mike Aviles: He fell asleep with the rest of the offense. We have been waiting a while for him to get hot again.
Nick Punto: Come on...It's Nick Punto.
Gomez/Lillibridge: It was nice to see Mauro gomez back in Boston and hitting that double after tearing it up in Pawtucket. And Lillibridge was hit usual self, not doing anything at all.
Starting Pitching
I'll give Dice-K the benefit of the doubt, Lester looked much better, and Aaron cook could have been better, but he still looked decent. All the blame goes on the offense.
Bullpen
Mortensen had a tough outing in game 1, but Melancon looked very good in his 2 innings of that game. Padilla was shaky and Aceves sucked in game 2. Miller, Albers, and Morales pitched well in the final game, but it was not enough.
Managing
The team loses, Bobby loses.
Overall
If you haven't lost all hope in this team, you are very close to it. They had golden opportunities to get closer to first, instead they couldn't swing their damn bats. They are going to get eaten alive by the Yankees.
