Beat Farming: Pawsox advance to Governors' Cup final with 7-1 win

The Pawtucket Red Sox have advanced to the Governors' Cup final (final round of IL Playoffs) with their 7-1, game 4 victory over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.

The Pawsox jumped out to an early and permanent lead as they scored all 7 runs in the 2nd inning. Danny Valencia had the most notable contribution, a 3-run homer for his first of the playoffs. Pawsox pitching didn't need much help as starter, Nelson Figueroa went 8 strong innings, giving up only 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 8. Alex Wilson closed it out with a 1-2-3 9th.

The Governors' Cup final will open in Pawtucket for games 1 and 2  on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:05.
