The Sox have called up righty reliever, Chris Carpenter from the Pawtucket Red Sox. Carpenter was acquired by Boston from the as part of compensation for Theo Epstein.
In his recent work with Pawtucket, Carpenter has made a strong case for a trip to Boston. In 16 appearances (15.2 IP) with the Pawsox, Carpenter was 1-0 with 4 saves, a 1.15 ERA, gave up 7 hits, 2 runs (both earned), 8 walks, and struck out 17.
Yeah, I think he is ready.
