The Red Sox have signed three players they trimmed from their roster last week to make the 40-man roster deadline, according to Ian Browne of MLB.com.
The three? David Carpenter -- the pitcher brought over from Toronto with John Farrell, infielder Ivan De Jesus, and pitcher Sandy Rosario, who was claimed off waivers last month. De Jesus came over in the Dodgers blockbuster in August.
Whether any of the designated players find their way back to Boston remains to be seen. The Rule 5 draft, in which qualifying players not on the 40-man can be claimed by other teams, is December 6.
