As many expected, in the first year marked by a significant number of PED users (or suspects), no players were selected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The top vote-getter was Craig Biggio, the slap-hitting model of consistency (and longevity) from the Houston Astros. Biggio got 68% of the vote, so I would say it's likely he will get in on future ballots (given that some voters likely don't consider him first ballot worthy).
The two most controversial figures, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, missed by significant margins. Clemens got 214 votes and Bonds 206 -- both 200+ away from enshrinement.
Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling also fell short at 38% (221 votes). Other Red Sox to get votes included David Wells (5) and Aaron Sele (1 -- must have been a close friend), both of whom will fall off the ballot due to getting less than 5% votes.
